FLORA PLATE (SET OF 1)
The Kanchan leaf from the flowering plant Kanchan or Kachnar (Bauhinia variegata) is a wonderful and multidimensional part of our living heritage. The flowers, fruits and leaves of the plant are edible and are an important source of nutrition to the tribals of Odisha and Jharkhand. The leaves are a perennial source of food, unlike others that provide nutritional support only for a short period. Researchers have shown that the leaves are rich in micronutrients and have traditionally been used for medicinal purposes like headache relief and ulcers. It is with pride that we present this beautiful small wonder to you in a commemorative handmade ceramic stoneware plate and a hand-carved wooden stand to remind us of its comforting presence in our lives.
The pārijātā flora plates collection is a dedication to the beautiful leaves, vines, and flowers of an amazingly biodiverse state. This biodiversity is under-appreciated in the daily hustle of our lives and is threatened by rampant urban growth, climate changes and deforestation. Each plate is carefully embossed with a leaf, vine or flower in its natural state and glazed carefully to provide a vivid description of its texture and lines. These home decor plates are our artistic endeavour to preserve, appreciate and remind us of our green heritage in our day-to-day lives.
