Story

Urmi ('wave' in Sanskrit) Ear Climbers capture water's most graceful quality—its ability to flow upward and around obstacles with effortless elegance. These sculptural earrings feature sinuous brass ribbons that climb the ear's natural curve like rising currents, each wave meticulously hand-formed to create dynamic, three-dimensional movement. A lustrous freshwater pearl nestles within the flowing brass, like a precious drop suspended in perpetual motion.

Part of the River Sutra Collection, these ear climbers translate the poetry of flowing water into wearable sculpture. The design references the spiraling eddies that form when river currents meet resistance—that beautiful moment when water doesn't fight but flows around, creating mesmerizing patterns. The asymmetric curves catch light from multiple angles, creating shimmer that shifts with every movement of the head.

What makes ear climbers special is their architectural quality—they frame the ear with sculptural presence while remaining remarkably lightweight and comfortable. The design follows your ear's natural anatomy, secured with a simple post backing while the flowing form appears to defy gravity, climbing upward like water drawn by invisible forces.

These earrings work beautifully alone, making a bold statement that draws the eye upward. They're equally stunning when paired with the matching Urmi Pendant, creating a coordinated set that celebrates water's flowing wisdom from multiple perspectives. The lightweight brass construction ensures all-day comfort, whether you're navigating morning meetings or evening gatherings.

The story

When water flows upward

Urmi means wave in Sanskrit — specifically the upward-reaching quality of water in motion. These ear climbers reference the spiraling eddies that form when river currents meet resistance: the beautiful moment when water flows around rather than fights, creating mesmerising patterns. Muskan Jain translated that quality into brass and placed it at the ear.

Who made it

Muskan Jain — Designer

Muskan Jain's ear climbers represent the most technically demanding piece of the debut River Sutra range — the sinuous brass ribbon must follow the ear's exact anatomy while appearing weightless and fluid. Each climber is hand-formed. The asymmetric design means no two pieces are mechanically identical.

Pair it with

Pair with the Urmi Brass Pendant for a coordinated set that celebrates water's flowing wisdom from two perspectives — the ear and the collarbone. Or wear the climbers alone for a bold architectural statement that needs no accompaniment.

Handmade & Small Batch

Like the rivers that inspired this collection, no two journeys are ever the same. Each piece is individually handcrafted in Odisha using traditional techniques, resulting in gentle variations in texture and finish that celebrate the beauty of handmade craft.
