Ruchi Marbled Spice Jars (Set of 3)

Ruchi — the Sanskrit word for taste, for the particular pleasure that comes from flavour well-kept — names this trio of marbled storage jars built for the heart of the kitchen. Each jar carries forward the signature technique of BEADS’ celebrated Pravāha and Ankur jars: ribbons of colour integrated directly into the clay body by ceramist Sarada Rout during preparation, so that the marbling — in flowing bands of deep blue and warm coral — runs through the full thickness of the vessel rather than sitting on its surface. No two jars marble alike; each is as individual as a fingerprint.
What sets the Ruchi trio apart is its lid: a hand-finished domed brass cap with a rounded brass finial, crafted by master metalworker Achyuta Sahoo of Balakati’s Kansari brass community, the same lineage of artisans behind BEADS’ Balakati Heritage coasters. The warm gleam of hand-finished brass sits against the cool, earthy marbling of the clay below — two of Odisha’s oldest craft traditions, fired clay and beaten brass, meeting atop a single vessel. Sized for salt, whole spices, and dry herbs, the set transforms everyday kitchen storage into a display-worthy still life, equally at home on an open shelf or a dining table.
