Story

The Ashoka Bloom Cascade celebrates the divine beauty of the Ashoka flower (Saraca asoca), a botanical treasure deeply cherished in Odisha's cultural landscape. This elegant necklace features a graceful cascading design where intricately crafted silver leaves flow seamlessly into a stunning four-petal bloom, rendered in vibrant crimson enamel that captures the tree's legendary flowers. The pendant's botanical elegance is suspended from a delicate silver chain, creating a harmonious balance between movement and grace.

The flower's center showcases intricate silver filigree work or "tarakashi," a hallmark craft tradition of Cuttack where artisans transform fine silver wire into mesmerizing patterns. In Odia, 'tara' means wire and 'kasi' is design. Beaten silver is drawn into thin fine wires and foils, which are then fashioned together to create show pieces or jewelry of infinite beauty.

In the words of designer Muskan Jain - "The Ashoka Bloom Cascade represents my vision of nature's poetry in motion. I wanted to capture the gentle cascade of Ashoka leaves leading to the flower's vibrant bloom, creating a piece that feels both rooted in tradition and fluid in its contemporary expression. The deep red enamel speaks to the flower's divine significance, while the flowing silver work brings movement and life to the design. It's my way of honoring Odisha's craft heritage while creating something that feels timeless and graceful."

The story

A gentle cascade toward the flower

Muskan Jain: 'The Ashoka Bloom Cascade represents my vision of nature's poetry in motion. I wanted to capture the gentle cascade of Ashoka leaves leading to the flower's vibrant bloom — creating a piece that feels both rooted in tradition and fluid in its contemporary expression. The deep red enamel speaks to the flower's divine significance, while the flowing silver work brings movement and life to the design.'

Who made it

Muskan Jain — Designer

The Ashoka Bloom Cascade Necklace is Muskan Jain's most narrative Ashoka piece — silver leaves that fall toward a single Ashoka bloom, the leaf cascade referencing the Pārijātā collection's broader botanical vocabulary. The tarakashi filigree centre brings Cuttack's craft tradition to the heart of the flower. 925 sterling silver. Limited edition.

Pair it with

The statement necklace of the Ashoka Collection. Pairs with Ashoka Blossom Drop Earrings for a complete Ashoka set. Or pairs with Ashoka Petal Hook Earrings for a slightly simpler set. Wears best alone — the leaf cascade and bloom are the statement.

Handmade & Small Batch

Like the rivers that inspired this collection, no two journeys are ever the same. Each piece is individually handcrafted in Odisha using traditional techniques, resulting in gentle variations in texture and finish that celebrate the beauty of handmade craft.
