Nirjhara Table Lamp

Nirjhara — the Sanskrit word for a cascade, a spring breaking free from rock — names this new sculptural addition to the Aabha Lighting Collection. The bell-form stoneware base rises in a luminous teal-blue glaze at the crown, smooth and glass-like, before giving way to a dense, hand-built lower register where individually formed glaze elements have been layered to suggest water frozen mid-fall — a cascade caught in the instant before it strikes stone, pooling into a darker, weathered foot. The effect is at once geological and aquatic: the same patient, accretive hand-building seen elsewhere in the collection, here pushed toward something more dramatic and vertical. Ekadasi Barik’s handwoven bamboo globe shade crowns the base, its warm honey-toned glow settling over the cascade below like late-afternoon light breaking through spray. Designed by Abhijeet Kaushal, Nirjhara extends the Aabha collection’s vocabulary of water and stone into a new register — louder, more vertical, more insistent than its predecessors.
