The lamp's sculptural base is a masterwork by ceramist Sarada Rout—a conical stoneware form adorned with an organic pattern of hand-carved perforations in varying sizes. Glazed in a lustrous glossy gold that evokes precious metal and temple adornments, the ceramic surface becomes radiant when illuminated, with warm light spilling through dozens of carefully placed openings. The reflective gold glaze amplifies the light's warmth, creating a double glow—the perforations themselves shine like molten gold, while the glossy exterior reflects and multiplies the ambient light throughout the room. These perforations create a mesmerizing constellation effect on surrounding surfaces, casting dancing patterns in warm, honeyed tones that transform the base into a luminous sculpture reminiscent of temple oil lamps and sacred diyas, bringing ritual beauty into contemporary living spaces.
