Each piece features an exquisitely etched floral motif in Pattachitra art traditions with petals radiating from a central eye, creating a mandala-like design that evokes both the lotus—sacred symbol of purity and spiritual awakening—and the sunflower, whose face follows the light throughout the day.

Each coaster is entirely handmade by Balakati's Kansari artisans, whose metalworking lineage stretches back over 400 years. Using traditional techniques of hand-hammering and etching, these master craftspeople bring sacred botanical forms to life in solid brass. The warm, golden metal provides the perfect canvas for the intricate floral design, which catches light beautifully and develops richer character as the brass ages naturally.
