The name "Tispa," drawn from the melodious Kui language spoken by the Dongria Kondha people of Odisha's Niyamgiri hills, translates beautifully to "to wake up." It captures not just the physical act of awakening, but the deeper spiritual transition from rest to action, from darkness to light, from dreams to reality.

Each cup features the distinctive chevron pattern that adorns traditional Dongria Kondha textiles, body art, and ritual objects. These rhythmic, herringbone-style lines in rich dark brown against a warm cream ceramic base evoke the flowing streams that cascade through the Niyamgiri landscape and the geometric precision found in the tribe's woven shawls. The pattern wraps around the cup in horizontal bands, creating a mesmerizing visual rhythm that celebrates the artistic legacy of one of Odisha's most culturally vibrant communities. These same motifs have decorated Dongria garments for generations, each line representing the continuous flow of life, water, and tradition through their sacred hills.
