Baleri’ stands for ‘Intoxication’ in Kui – most likely after late evenings of merriment sampling salapa, the local brew ! Our little shot glasses aim to capture this effervescence and joy in unique triangle shapes inspired by the Dongria artwork. We find these little glasses serve as great canapé cups too! We have designed the packaging for these little drops of fun to be unique , reusable , biodegradable and work as a compact storage unit . Artisans have specialised in the art of terracotta with potters from the Barpali village in Western Odisha gaining international renown for their whimsical roof tiles. Almost every district in the state has a unique style of pottery based on types of clay and practice. Utilitarian products, and products for temple rituals remain the focus although modern ceramic practices are now being taken up by several artists.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
– This product is handcrafted and therefore slight variations in colours, textures and forms are inevitable and aren’t flaws.
– Stoneware is terracotta inspired and might shed moisture.
– Wash by hand only, using a mild dishwashing soap. Dry using a soft towel or tissue. Avoid stacking ceramic bowls in the sink.
– This ceramic product is microwave-safe.

So I got myself an imperfectly perfect Baleri shot glasses, for multi-purpose.
A modest HOME GROWN decor for my little space that transitions into shot glasses for my parties.
A set of 6 glasses in a box, these are pretty thick, well-made, impeccable quality ceramic glasses, that would hold your drink cold. They actually arrived in Bangalore without any damage. Must appreciate the thought that has gone into the packaging, which is completely plastic-free. In fact, I am RE-USING the packages as a storage container in my vanity.
I take immense pride in writing this review for this homegrown business because of how sophisticated, personalized, and beautiful the brand is, which is from my home state. Much love.

– November 25, 2022I got these cute shot glasses during my recent visit to Bhubaneswar. The packaging, the lovely backstory and the singed leaflet from the artist made it special and personal.
Was excited to use them during the Thanksgiving dinner to serve desi style “masala soda” and it was the conversation topic 🙂 ! Planning to use as an appetizer shooter next time.
