PENDANT WITH CHAIN
The dimiri tree or ficus racemosa is also referred to as the Audumbara tree in Sanskrit. According to the Shatapatha Brahmana, an ancient Sanskrit text , the Audumbara tree was created from the force of Indra, the leader of the gods ,that came out of his flesh when he overindulged in soma – the drink of the gods. The fruits are commonly eaten as a vegetable after the seeds have been discarded, and made into stir-fries and curries. The fruits are a favourite staple of the common Indian macaque. The rough leaves of the plant can also be used to remove caterpillar bristles lodged in skin.
The pārijātā jewellery collection is a dedication to the beautiful leaves, vines, and flowers of an amazingly biodiverse state. Each handmade ceramic stoneware pendant piece is carefully crafted to reflect the natural elements of the leaf, vine or flower and elements from local craft traditions are reference. The pārijātā jewellery collection reminds us of the fragile nature of our relationship and encourages us to wear our love and concern for nature with pride.
