DRINKING GLASS (BROWN) (SET OF 1)

When we say ‘Wakumu’ in Kui we invite you to ‘Pour’ ! The beautifully arched drinking glasses in blue and yellow are inspired by Dongria motifs of streams that dot their gorgeous countryside. Each glass has been handcrafted to give a feeling of the rustic charm of age old drinkware that are at once elegant and functional retaining the warmth or coolness of the pour! Ceramics in Odisha has a long and distinguished history with polished red and black earthenware discovered in urban centres as far back as 2000 years.

Artisans have specialised in the art of terracotta with potters from the Barpali village in Western Odisha gaining international renown for their whimsical roof tiles. Almost every district in the state has a unique style of pottery based on types of clay and practice. Utilitarian products, and products for temple rituals remain the focus although modern ceramic practices are now being taken up by several artists.
