Dhana- Nabanna Platter & Kheer Bowl Set

Nabanna, Sanskrit and Odia for "new rice" — the ceremonial offering of the season's first harvest, at the very centre of the Nuakhai festival this collection is named for.

The Nabanna set is built for the ritual at the heart of Nuakhai: the offering and sharing of the season's first rice. Two generous 9.5-inch platters and two matching kheer bowls form a complete serving pair for the ceremonial meal — the platters for the newly harvested rice and accompaniments, the bowls for kheer, the sweetened rice pudding traditionally prepared to mark the day.

Hand-thrown in the collection's proprietary terracotta-and-stoneware clay blend with a transparent glaze, each piece is carved with the same grain-frond motif that runs through the Dhāna Harvest Collection, rendered here at a larger scale across the platter's wide face.

Weightier and more substantial than the collection's tea sets — the platter alone is five times the weight of a single Sasya cup — the Nabanna set is positioned as the collection's centerpiece: the vessel for the festival's ritual meal rather than its everyday counterpart.
