Kallola Brass Ear Cuff

Kallola — in Sanskrit, the rolling curl of a wave as it crests and turns over itself — describes water at its most expressive moment: the instant before a wave breaks, when all its energy is gathered into a single sinuous form. The Kallola Ear Cuff is the most architectural piece in the River Sutra Collection — a sinuous brass wire that maps the ear's landscape like a current mapping new terrain.

The design wraps the natural curve of the upper cartilage in a continuous undulating wave, flowing and never still. Two small gold-toned brass beads are positioned along the wave like stones that a river cannot move — around which the current simply shapes itself with graceful inevitability. The lower element drops to a fine straight line, the river finding its channel again after its surge through the cartilage's curves.

Unlike the Urmi Ear Climbers which embrace the lobe, the Kallola Ear Cuff makes its home in the upper cartilage — bolder, more experimental, a piece for those who wear their relationship with water openly. The brass is formed with care to sit flush against the ear without pressure, its lightweight construction ensuring comfort through long wear.
